Roxanne Croze, graduate student researcher in the Center for Stem Cell Biology and Engineering, was chosen as one of nineteen top student researchers in the U.S. and will convene with Nobel Laureates in Lindau, Germany. Roxanne will be among other student researchers from 80 different countries to participate in the week-long meeting dedicated to physiology and medicine this year. Throughout the week, Laureates and students will exchange ideas, discuss projects and build international networks. The 38 participating Laureates will interact with students from around the world for discussions regarding such tops as global health, the latest findings in cancer or Aids research and future research approaches to medicine.

Roxanne earned her B.S. in Cellular and Molecular Biology from UC Davis in 2007. While at UC Davis, she worked with Dr. Reen Wu investigating the roles of IL-17 in asthma. After graduation Roxanne took a Research Assistant position at Harvard Medical School in the lab of Dr. Bruce Levy. There she examined the effects of lipid mediator compounds, specifically Lipoxin A4 and Resolvin D1 on various lung inflammatory diseases including pneumonia. In 2010, Roxanne began her doctoral studies at UCSB in Dr. Dennis Clegg’s lab studying Age-Related Macular Degeneration.
