Because of the extremely costly nature of stem cell research, donations are sought to realize the goals of the Initiative, namely to support cutting-edge interdisciplinary stem cell research and bioengineering related to ocular disease. Support by private individuals, foundations and corporations continues to be crucial for the Center's realization of these goals.
